Edmunds Z. Reineks, MD, PhD, earned his BS in physics and served as a nuclear engineering division officer in the US Navy aboard the USS California (CGN-36). After his service, he completed premed coursework at the University of Washington, Seattle, and pursued medical and graduate studies at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, where he earned his MD and PhD (pharmacology). After pathology residency and a clinical chemistry fellowship, he was appointed to the professional staff at the Cleveland Clinic in the Department of Laboratory Medicine, where he provides medical directorship of the point of care program. He is board certified in clinical chemistry, clinical pathology, and clinical informatics.
