Mark Wade, MT(ASCP), has served as the laboratory services director at the San Antonio Metropolitan Health District (SAMHD) in San Antonio, Texas, for over six years after an extensive 20-year military career conducting clinical and environmental laboratory operations. With an extensive dual work history in environmental chemistry and industrial hygiene laboratory operations, Mark and his team have ably responded to two hurricanes, the H1N1 pandemic outbreak, and large-scale TB contact investigations over and above daily laboratory operations. Mark is an active Association of Public Health Laboratories (APHL) board member and belongs to several sitting committees.
