The CA5000-N from Hampshire Controls safeguards biological materials by delivering freezer backup for ultra-low temperature (ULT) storage. The system includes temperature monitoring, onsite and remote alarms, battery backup, and liquid nitrogen (LN₂) for more than 48 hours of extended cold storage operation, providing the time to restore power, repair the freezer, or transfer the freezer’s contents. A manual LN₂ injection from the CA5000-N will bring a freezer to ULT immediately without having to wait for a typical cooldown interval. Designed for easy programming, the system includes settings for alarm temperature conditions, alarm delay periods, and backup LN₂ injection initiation conditions.
