Shimadzu Scientific Instruments introduces its MALDI EasyCare solution, which works in conjunction with the MALDI-8000 Series TOF mass spectrometers to help users perform routine upkeep on the system. The solution is designed to increase uptime and reduce costs by enabling operators to care for the system themselves without the need for service engineer maintenance calls. The system addresses the challenge of MALDI-TOF ion optics contamination, which can hinder instrument performance. It allows operators to remove, clean, and refit ion optics while the software can automatically tune deflectors and the detector. The solution is designed for running high shot number applications like MALDI imaging as well as more challenging applications using samples that rapidly contaminate instrument optics.
