Both negative run controls and matrices are designed for spike-in or dilution purposes and can be used with molecular assays to monitor intra- and inter-run performance. These products enable laboratories to capture run-to-run, day-to-day, instrument-to-instrument, operator-to-operator, and lot-to-lot variations within molecular assays. They can be used to train laboratory operators and evaluate proficiency, and may also help in the detection of errors in laboratory testing procedures, including potential contamination events.
